I'm now reading Latehomecoming by Kao Kalia Yang. It's a very interesting memoir about the Hmong people and Kalia's family in particular and their journey which brings them to St.Paul.
We don't know if you are interested in cooking but there is a great Hmong cookbook that was recently published. Along with the recipes there are essays about the food and its meaning. The title is Cooking from the Heart: the Hmong Kitchen in America by Sami Scripter and Sheng Yang. Nice use of gadgets!
